The Surroundings

The Lot Valley

L’Estiu is set in the heart of one of the most authentic and unspoiled regions of southern France — the Lot valley. A landscape of gentle hills, vineyards and medieval villages that captivates from the very first moment.

The region is home to the renowned AOC Cahors, where robust Malbec-based red wines are produced. Numerous wineries welcome visitors for tours and tastings. And Prayssac itself? Its Friday market, voted most beautiful market in the Midi-Pyrénées, is a colourful and fragrant experience not to be missed.

Activities

For the active guest, the surroundings offer endless possibilities — hiking, cycling, mountain biking and horse riding through a breathtaking landscape of rolling hills and valleys. Rocamadour and Saint-Cirq-Lapopie are the most spectacularly situated attractions in the region, and for nature lovers the impressive cave of Pech Merle and the Gouffre de Padirac are an absolute must.

The Dordogne

And then there is the Dordogne — just half an hour away. Here a different world awaits: castles that rise proudly above the river, picturesque bastide villages and the famous prehistoric caves of the Vézère valley. Two iconic French regions, one perfect base.

L'Estiu. At the heart of the very best of southern France.
